Version 1.2 — online consultation service — 5 October 2026.
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of OlaDoc.ie and any online consultation you book through it. OlaDoc.ie is operated by IE HEALTHNOW LIMITED (company no. 805729, registered office 5 St Patrick’s Close, Kilkenny, Ireland; email support@oladoc.ie). By ticking the box at checkout you accept these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Cancellations & Refunds policy.
2. What the service is — and is not
OlaDoc arranges online consultations by telephone or video between you and an independent doctor registered with the Irish Medical Council. IE HEALTHNOW LIMITED provides the booking platform, takes payment on the doctor’s behalf, and supports you before and after the consultation. The clinical care itself is provided by the doctor, who exercises independent professional judgement and is responsible for it.
OlaDoc is not an emergency service and does not replace ongoing care from your regular doctor. If you have chest pain, difficulty breathing, symptoms of stroke, heavy bleeding, a severe allergic reaction, thoughts of harming yourself, or any other emergency, call 112 or 999 immediately and do not book an online consultation.
3. Who can book, and for whom
- You must be 18 or over to book. You may book for a child, or for an adult in your care, if you are their parent, guardian or carer; you must be present for the consultation, and the doctor may ask to speak to the patient directly.
- The patient must be in Ireland at the time of the consultation. Our doctors are registered in Ireland and prescribe to Irish pharmacies.
- You must give accurate information — identity, date of birth, contact details, medical history and current medicines. A consultation booked on false information may be ended without refund.
4. Bookings, fees and payment
- The fee is shown before you pay: currently €34.99 for a phone consultation and €39.99 for a video consultation, except the Performance & Stage Anxiety Consultation: €39.99 by phone and €44.99 by video. Medical services are exempt from VAT in Ireland; the price you see is the price you pay.
- Payment is taken in full at booking through Stripe. Your booking is confirmed by email once payment succeeds.
- You are paying for the doctor’s time and professional assessment, not for a particular outcome. A consultation that does not end in a prescription or certificate is still a delivered consultation.
- By booking a consultation for a time within 14 days of the booking, you expressly request that the service begin within the statutory cooling-off period, and you acknowledge that once the consultation has been delivered you lose the right to cancel under the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013. Your cancellation rights before the consultation are set out in section 5.
5. Cancellations, missed calls and refunds
- Cancel more than 6 hours before your appointment, from your patient portal or by email: full refund.
- Cancel within 6 hours, or after the consultation has started: no refund.
- If we cannot reach you during your appointment window after repeated attempts, the consultation is treated as delivered and is not refundable.
- If the doctor cannot attend, we will offer you the next available time or a full refund.
- Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within 5 to 10 working days.
Full detail is in our Cancellations & Refunds policy.
6. Clinical scope
- The doctor decides what can be safely assessed and treated online. If an examination, a test or in-person care is needed, the doctor will tell you and advise where to go. That is a proper outcome of the consultation, not a failure of it.
- Prescriptions are issued only where clinically appropriate and are sent electronically to the pharmacy you name. Controlled drugs are never prescribed on OlaDoc.
- Sick notes, fit-to-work, attendance and travel certificates, referral letters and insurance medical reports are issued at the doctor’s discretion and only for the consultation in question. An insurance medical report records what was reported and advised at that online consultation. It contains no examination findings, cannot state whether a condition was pre-existing, and does not guarantee that an insurer will accept a claim. A sick note and a fit-to-work certificate cannot both be issued from the same consultation.
- Documents are issued as signed PDFs with a verification reference. Altering a document is a criminal offence.
7. Your responsibilities
- Be reachable at the number you gave, somewhere you can speak privately, for the whole appointment window.
- Tell the doctor about allergies, current medicines, pregnancy, and any condition that could matter.
- Follow the doctor’s advice, including advice to seek in-person or emergency care.
- Do not record the consultation without the doctor’s agreement, and do not use the service to obtain medicines for anyone other than the patient.
- Keep your booking emails and portal link private; they give access to your consultation details.
8. Clinical responsibility and liability
Each doctor on OlaDoc is independently registered with the Irish Medical Council, holds professional indemnity cover for online consultations, and is responsible for the clinical care they provide. IE HEALTHNOW LIMITED is responsible for the platform, the booking and payment process, and the handling of your data. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Irish law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Your data
How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Your consultation is documented in a clinical record; you may request a copy at any time.
10. Complaints
Write to support@oladoc.ie. We acknowledge complaints promptly and aim to resolve them within 20 working days. A complaint about a doctor’s professional conduct may also be made to the Medical Council of Ireland. A complaint about your data may be made to the Data Protection Commission.
11. General
We may update these terms; the version and date at the top tell you which applies, and the terms in force when you book apply to that booking. These terms are governed by the law of Ireland and the Irish courts have jurisdiction, without prejudice to your rights as a consumer.
